Harry Redknapp has added another veteran to his Dad’s Army style squad on the south coast. Sylvain Distin will move to Portsmouth when his contract expires with managerless Manchester City.

Portsmouth almost lost their man when Liverpool placed an offer to tempt the Frenchman to stay in the North-West. The signing of Distin will add further resolve to Pompey’s defence as they push for Europe next season.
