Black Cats boss Roy Keane has withdrawn his clubs offer for David Nugent. Preston had given Sunderland permission to talk to the England international once they had agreed to meet their valuation of the player.

It could be that Roy Keane’s legendary temper kicked in and he withdrew the offer due to the player’s stalling on the move to the North East. So far Keane has only been interested in players that fit in at the stadium of light and they must value football over finance.

Last season Keane demonstrated that he would not endure any divas in his squad when he sent three players home for a lack of punctuality. Their crime was missing the bus for the away trip to Derby County.
