Martin Jol has continued his summer spending with the addition of the hottest property in French youth football Younes Kaboul. Kaboul the France under 21 captain joins from French club Auxerre.

Kaboul will provide Spurs with the depth in defence that they lack toward the end of last season, when they struggled to cope with injuries, suspensions and cup-tie situations.

Spurs are believed to have spent in the region of £30m so far this summer in acquiring Gareth Bale, Darren Bent and now Kaboul. Spurs fans will wonder if the signing of the French youngster will see Pascal Chimbonda leave for Stamford Bridge. They will also hope that the spending will continue and secure the missing link, a left sided midfielder.
