McClaren Has Selected The Next England Captain

England Boss Steve McClaren has told the press that he has already chosen the next England Captain. The vacancy exists after David Beckham relinquished the role shortly after being dumped out of this years World Cup on penalties to Portugal.

There are many candidates for the position with John Terry installed as the bookies favourite. Surely McClaren will not choose either Lampard or Gerrard as possible tactical changes could rule either out of being selected. After years of being the ‘shop steward’ Gary Neville must think it is time to be the bride rather than the bridesmade, but at 30+ he is not the option for the future of the England team. Do the FA really want their team/country to be led by Rio Ferdinand, a player who was banned for not attending a drug test, or who threw a tantrum when the club that stood by him during the drug fiasco didn’t offer him the extra twenty grand he wanted. The burning question is who do England fans want to see made England captain? Have your say in the poll.

Who would be your ideal England Captain?
