Manchester United Lose To Late Henry Winner Against Arsenal At Emirates
United looked to avenge their Old Trafford defeat to the Gunners on their first visit to the Emirates Stadium and they started the game in a brighter fashion than their hosts. However in a keenly contested first half, neither side managed to break the deadlock.
It took Wayne Rooney to step in from the shadows of the right wing where he was playing in an unfamiliar role, to step up and put the Red Devils in front. A lead that could have increased United’s Premiership lead over Chelsea to nine points. That was until Robin Van Persie struck from an acute angle to make the scores level with just seven minutes left on the clock.
However the show was about to be stolen by the man with the va va voom, with another special goal. Thierry Henry does not score many goals with in his head, but when he does they are spectacular. Three minutes into stoppage time Eboue broke down the right flank and whipped in a cross that was met by Henry who thundered the ball past Edwin Van Der Sar, handing Arsene Wenger a double over Manchester United.
