In an amazing coup Sir Alex Ferguson has secured the services of Henrik Larsson for 11 weeks starting on the 1st of January 2007. Having won the Champions League last season with Barcelona, Larsson had a wealth of suitors looking for his signature. However the former Celtic legend had fulfilled his wish to finish his career in his native Sweden.

United have taken advantage of the winter break in the Swedish league, which means that the striker will have the best of both worlds, playing in the premiership keeping on top of his game while still being contracted to Helsingborgs.

Larsson will give the Red Devils another striking option during the most congested part of the season where they might need one most. However what will happen if there is an injury crisis? Will he be asked to stay for a short while or would he return to Sweden having used United and their facilities as a kind of preseason camp to maintain fitness?
