Jose Mourinho has finally spent some money in the summer transfer window. He has splashed out £13.5 million on Lyon winger Florent Malouda.

Malouda will fly out America to join his new team-mates on their pre season tour, where they will play against David Beckham’s new club LA Galaxy.

The French international will feel at home in the Chelsea dressing room as he has played alongside Didier Drogba and Michael Essien in the past. His arrival will make a couple of Chelsea’s other stars feel a little uncomfortable as they move closer to the door, both Arjen Robben and Shaun Wright-Phillips have been linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge.
