Henrik Larsson Scores Winner Against Lille In His Last Game At Old Trafford
Henrik Larsson made his final bow in front of the Manchester United faithful at Old Trafford a memorable occasion, by scoring the only goal of the night. The Swede’s loan from Helsingborgs is over on Monday when he will return to Sweden in time for the start of their season.
After all the controversy of the first leg Lille did not appear to have travelled to Manchester to get the result that they needed to progress. They appeared content to try and hold and contain United, making the job of the home side as difficult as possible.
It took over an hour for United to get on the scoresheet, the goal coming from another set-piece. This time it was a Cristiano Ronaldo corner that was guided in to the French goal by the deft touch of Henrik Larsson. The 2-0 aggregate score puts Manchester United in the draw along with the two clubs below them in the premiership.
