Easter Delight For Roy Keane And Sunderland As They Top The Coca-Cola Championship

Sunderland sit proud at the top of the Championship following a busy Easter fixture schedule. Sunderland won two games in three days by the same 2-1 score line.

The first win came from Saturdays home game against Wolves, giving Keane the last laugh with his old Irish adversary and former Sunderland manager Mick McCarthy. The second victory was hard earned against George Burley’s Southampton. The Black Cats had to come from behind to earn the three points that would see them top the Coca-Cola Championship table.

Other Easter results went Sunderland’s way Derby who had been top of the table on Friday could only manage two 1-1 draws against Leicester and Coventry. While Birmingham City lost 1-0 to both Burnley and Barnsley allowing Sunderland to coast to Championship summit.
