Drogba Saves Blushes As Chelsea Scrape Draw With Valencia

Chelsea seem to have an mental block when they come up against Spanish opposition. They fell behind to a David Silva thirty minutes into the first half; the Spaniard shooting from over thirty yards, with a shot that left Petr Cech no chance of making a save.

Chelsea tried hard to get level, missing a host of opportunities in the remaining minutes of the first half. They started the second half in the way they finished the first. Didier Drogba needing just fifteen minutes to finally get the goal that drew them level.

Jose Mourinho tried to make the most of the Blues home advantage by bringing on two attacking players in Cole making his return to the first team and Wright-Phillips, however it was all to no avail as the game finished 1-1 leaving it all to do when they travel to Spain next week.
