Tottenham Fans Petition Prime Minister Tony Blair For Improved Transport Links To White Hart Lane
Comments (0)Disgruntled Spurs fans who have endured years of difficulty travelling to home fixtures have taken to the internet to put pressure on the Prime Minister to improve the transport links to White Hart Lane.
The petition was created by 16 year old fan Willaim Harris who travels across London from his home in Teddington to attend matches in Tottenham. He wants Transport For London (TFL) and London Underground to extend the tube network to have a station closer to the clubs Home on Tottenham High Road.
The club have considered moving from their current home and have cited the poor transport facilities as one of the main contributory factors for any possible move. They had even considered the new Olympic stadium as a possible new venue, but although the transport links would be fantastic the capacity of the stadium after the games will be in the region of 25000. Which is 11000 less than White Hart Lane.
The petition is open for signatures until 6th August this year and currently has over 4000 signatures. If you want improved transport to Tottenham games or would just like to lend your support to fellow football fans you can access the petition from the following link:
West Ham United Will Not Take Possession Of Olympic Stadium After 2012 Games
Comments (0)A number of London clubs had all been interested in taking over the Olympic stadium in East London after the games in 2012 among them West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur and Leyton Orient. The two premiership clubs both looking for new bigger homes to aid their growth, providing them with increased ticket revenue, which could be converted into transfer funds.
The flaw in the plans are that the Olympic committee have found a design that will convert the stadium from its games capacity of 80,000 seats to 25,000 after the games and must house a running track. Both are very good reasons for the premiership clubs not moving to the stadium the capacity is over 10,000 seats less than their current homes and the running track would severely hamper the views of the fans.
